The Many Lives of an AeroPress

September 2026· www.instagram.com

An AeroPress is about as simple as a coffee maker gets, a tube, a plunger, a cap. That is exactly why I keep coming back to it. Pull it apart and you find nearly every idea in coffee brewing hiding inside one cheap plastic cylinder, and once you see them, you start noticing how much room they leave to play.

The Many Lives of an AeroPress is my attempt to share that, half design talk, half brewing class. We take the object apart piece by piece, talk about why it works the way it does, then spend the rest of the evening actually brewing, no scales, no fuss, just hands, water, and a willingness to taste what changes.

About 20 people showed up at Cafe Addict in Kochi on a September evening, and strangers turned into collaborators fast, comparing grinds, trading presses, laughing at their own first attempts. Watching someone taste their own cup and realise a small change in technique moved the whole flavour, that is the part I show up for.
