The Kochi Biennale was a good excuse to spend a few days in Kochi, even in the middle of March heat. The city is not my hometown, but it has always felt a little like one. Maybe it is the food, the old streets, the familiar faces, or just knowing where to go without thinking too much. The Biennale took us through galleries, old warehouses, courtyards and little spaces across Fort Kochi. Between all the art, there was plenty of walking, sweating, eating, coffee and finding shade whenever possible. March was brutal, but Kochi still had that familiar feeling of being somewhere we could take our time.
