Scriptty

Hrishikesh wanted a screenwriting tool that worked offline, without a subscription, and without the compromises that come with software built more around distribution than writing. Malayalam screenwriters especially have always had to pick between fighting a Latin-script tool or using a word processor and losing proper screenplay formatting entirely. He started building Scriptty as the third option and I came in to collaborate on the design.

The app supports both Hollywood single-column and Indian two-column formats, has Malayalam input built in so you never have to leave the page to switch scripts, and keeps everything local with no cloud or account required. Available on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
