Pour Over
Pour over is a coffee brewing method where you slowly pour hot water over ground coffee held in a paper filter. You can use different pour-over devices, such as the Hario V60 (Plastic, Glass, Metal or Ceramic), Origami, and Switch Dripper, which sit directly over your cup or carafe. The water passes through the coffee and filter, leaving you with a clean and clear cup. Each dripper controls water flow differently, changing the final cup.
You need a filter paper, which holds the coffee grounds back and filters out most of the oils. Water temperature, how much you pour, and how evenly you pour can all make a difference.
| Coffee | 15g |
| Grind | Medium-fine, like fine sand |
| Water | 250ml at 92-94°C |
| Time | 2:30–3:30 minutes |
- Rinse the paper filter with hot water and discard the rinse water.
- Add the coffee and gently level the grounds.
- Pour 50ml of water evenly over the coffee and let it bloom for 30–45 seconds.
- Slowly pour the remaining water in gentle circles until you reach 250ml.
- Let the water drain completely through the coffee bed.
- Give the dripper a gentle swirl, then pour and enjoy.
