How to start

Coffee and water are the two essentials. About 98% of your cup is water. Start with clean RO water. For a simple baseline, aim for a pH around 7 and TDS between 75–200.

For coffee, fresher is better. Buy good-quality roasted beans, grind them as needed, and store them dry and airtight. Buy smaller batches, especially for pre-ground coffee.

If you are in South India, choose coffee without chicory if you want to taste the coffee itself. Start without sugar. It’s the easiest way to notice its aroma and flavor.

There are different ways to make coffee. The method you use affects how the water and coffee interact, which changes the taste and texture of the cup.
