പള്ളി പരീക്ഷയിലെ ആദ്യ നാലു് ചോദ്യം എന്തുതന്നെയായാലും ഉത്തരം ‘ദൈവം’ ആണെന്ന മഹത് സത്യം പരീക്ഷയ്ക്കു് മുമ്പെ അവനറിയാമെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യനെ ആരു് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു എന്ന ചോദ്യത്തിനു് അവന്‍ എഴുതിയതു് പള്ളിക്കു നിരക്കാത്ത ഉത്തരമായിരുന്നു. അവനെഴുതിയ ഉത്തരം വെട്ടിത്തിരുത്തി വികൃതമാക്കി പള്ളി പറഞ്ഞ സത്യം അവന്‍ എഴുതിയെങ്കിലും അവന്റെ ഉത്തരക്കടലാസു കാണാന്‍ ഭാഗ്യം കിട്ടുന്നവര്‍ക്കെല്ലാം അറിയാം അവന്റെ മനസ്സില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ശരിയുത്തരം എന്താണു് എന്നു്. ഇതു് തന്നെയാണു് പാപിലൊ ബുദ്ധാ എന്ന സിനിമയും.

വ്യക്തമായ രാഷ്ട്രീയം പുലര്‍ത്തുന്ന ചിത്രമാണു് പാലിലൊ ബുദ്ധ. നാടകീയത തീരെയില്ലാതെയും തന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെ മഹത്വവല്‍ക്കരിക്കാതെയും രാഷ്ട്രീയം പറയുന്ന സംവിധായകനും പ്രകൃതിദൃശ്യങ്ങളെയും മനുഷ്യശരീരത്തെയും സിനിമയുടെ ഉള്‍ക്കാമ്പിനു് ശക്തിനല്‍കുംവിധം ഫ്രേമുകള്‍ തീര്‍ത്ത ഛായാഗ്രാഹകനും ഒരുപാടു് ഷോട്ടുകള്‍ കുത്തിനിറയ്ക്കാതെ സ്വാഭാവികത നല്‍കിയ എഡിറ്ററും നിശബ്ദതയെ പശ്ചാത്തലസംഗീതമാക്കിയ സംഗീതസംവിധായകനും മത്സരിച്ചഭിനയിച്ച നടീനടന്മാരും ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രത്തെ ഏറ്റവും സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്ന ഘടകം സെന്‍സര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ് എന്ന മഹാത്മാവിന്റെ കൈയൊപ്പുകളാണു്.

സിനിമ തീയറ്ററില്‍ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ ഏറ്റവും വിചിത്രമായി തോന്നിയ സെന്‍സര്‍ബോര്‍ഡ് കരവിരുതു് രണ്ടെണ്ണമാണു്. ഭാഷാ സദാചാരവാദികളെ ഉറക്കംകെടുത്തുന്ന അസഭ്യവാക്കുകളായ ‘മൈരും,’ ‘പുലയാട്ടും’ ശ്രവണസുന്ദരമായി സംഭാഷണത്തില്‍ കയറിവരുമ്പോള്‍ ഗാന്ധി, അഹിംസ എന്നീ വാക്കുകള്‍ നിശബ്ദമായി മാറുമ്പോള്‍, ഗാന്ധിയും അഹിംസയും സെന്‍സര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡും ഒരു തെറിയായി കാണുന്നുവോ എന്നു തോന്നിപ്പോവും.

സിനിമയില്‍ ‘ഏതോ’ ഒരു പ്രതിമയ്ക്കു് ചെരുപ്പുമാല ഇടുന്നതു് കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ടു്. പിന്നീടു് ആ പ്രതിമ കത്തിക്കുന്നുമുണ്ടു്. റോഡിലും മൈതാനങ്ങളിലും പാര്‍ക്കിലുമായി കാക്കക്കാഷ്ഠത്തില്‍ കുളിച്ചു് വടിപിടിച്ചുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന ആ പ്രതിമ blur ചെയ്താലും ഏതൊരു പത്തുരൂപ നോട്ടിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനും ആ മഹാത്മാവിനെ മനസിലാക്കാന്‍ കഴിയും എന്ന സത്യം ഓര്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍ blur എന്നതു് attention seeking ആയി ചെയ്തതായി തോന്നിപ്പോവും. ബുദ്ധവിഗ്രഹം തല്ലിത്തകര്‍ക്കുന്ന നേരത്തു് ബുദ്ധവിഗ്രഹവും blur ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ അതിനു് മുമ്പും ശേഷവും സ്ക്രീനില്‍ കാണിച്ചതു് അതെ വിഗ്രമമാണെന്നു് ഓര്‍ത്തു് ആരും ഒന്നു ചിരിച്ചുപോവും.

സിനിമ എന്ന മാധ്യമം മനുഷ്യനെ ഏറെ ആഴത്തില്‍ സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്നു എന്നു് കണ്ണുമടച്ചു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരാണു് സെന്‍സര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ്. പുകവലിക്കുന്ന നായകനും കള്ളുകുടിക്കുന്ന വില്ലനും മനുഷ്യമനസ്സിനെ സ്വാധീനിക്കാതെയിരിക്കാന്‍ ഒരു മിനിറ്റ് നീണ്ടുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന ‘യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യം’ രണ്ടുവീതം മൂന്നുനേരം സിനിമയ്ക്കു് മുമ്പു് വിളമ്പാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയിട്ടു് വര്‍ഷം രണ്ടാവാറായി. ഈ സിനിമയിലെ സ്വാധീനിക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുള്ള വിഷം മുന്നില്‍കണ്ടു് പന്ത്രണ്ടു മിനിറ്റ് നീളത്തില്‍ ഗാന്ധി ഡോക്യുമെന്ററിയും സിനിമയുടെ അവസാനം രഘുപതിരാഘവ രാജാറാമും ഇടാതെയിരുന്നതില്‍ ആശ്വസിക്കാം.

The finest Heist Drama Indian Movies ever seen. Brilliantly written and executed by Neeraj Pandey, with excellent casting and well tailored edits, the only thing that you can do while watching the movie is laugh out loud and clap till hand demands rest! As said by Madhureeta Mukherjee of The Times of India Special 26 grips, excites and ahh…climaxes too! And no … you can’t fake this one! Catch it for pure cinematic orgasm.

Special 26, directed by Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday fame, The film stars Akshay Kumar and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles with Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai and Anupam Kher in supporting roles. The trailer is stunning and its a must watch!

5 Sundarikal, Anthology films are not common in Malayalam industry. The one we had last is Kerala Cafe. This time its 5 directors joining to make this movie. Cinematographer Shyju Khalid, who did DOP for Salt N Pepper and 22 Female Kottayam turns to director through this project. Other segements of this package movie are directed by Anwar Rasheed, Aashiq Abu, Amal Neerad and Sameer Tahir. Aashiq Abu updated some hours before that, 5 Sundarikal is an anthology of 5 short films by 5 Film makers, about 5 “Sundarikal”. ” Amma, Makal, Kaamuki, Bhaarya, Naayika “.

David and Goliath, Director Rajeev Nadh and Actor Script Writer Anoop Menon is working together again after very critically acclaimed  Pakal Nakshathragal, which released in 2008. Jayasurya-Anoop Menon combination is joining again in screen after giving 4 well acclaimed movies. Music by Ratheesh Vegha.

Kili Poyi, Just like last 4 years, 2013 also promises debut of many promising moving makers. Kili Poyi, staring Asif Ali and Aju Varghese  is directed by Vinay Govind and scripted by Joseph Kurian, Vivek Ranjit & Vinay Govind. The clean teaser and very different poster design has already made this movie a expected movie of 2013.

Left Right Left, Arun Kumar Aravind, who gave two stunning and different thrillers to Malayalam is back again and with his very favorite screen writer Murali Gopy. The teaser, just like E Adutha Kaalath, has nothing much to tell about movie or the cast, but make us expect something bigger than E Adutha Kaalath.

Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, directed by V K Prakash, penned by Sankar Ramakrishnan could be considered as a movie people are curious about. The very different title, poster design and Fahad Fazil – Kamalini Mugharji casting has definitely made people curious to know what the movie is actually about.

Kadal, The master of movie making ManiRathnam is back and is with his favorite crew. A R Rahman is doing the Music, Cinematography is by Rajiv Menon and Editing by Sreekar Prasad. The songs are already viral.

I, Directed by hitmaker Sankar, the 100 Crore Rupee budgeted movie has Vikram and Amy Jackson in lead roles.

Biriyani, is next flick by Venkat Prabhu. Karthi and Hansika Motwani in the lead role and we expect a yummy movie !!

Paradesi, Bala movie starring Adharvaa, Dhansika and Vedhika. The music for this period movie is done by G. V. Prakash Kumar.

There is no big story. Its a one liner and very ‘Romeo Juliet’, which happens at Mattanchery, Vypin, Fort Kochi region. The heroine has less than 20 dialog, and the love actually happens in a silent mode, which is amazingly visualized. The dialog are spot refined and some shots are taken in Guerrilla film making mode. The way in which fights scenes and celebration scenes are taken needs a special applause they are natural, and well captured by Madhu Neelakantan. Breaking the standard “rich color visuals for love story” theory, director Rajeev Ravi used very natural and a bit dark tone for narrating the movie.

The casting of Annayum Rasoolum is perfect. Fahad performed amazingly as Resool while Andrea’s Anna is possibly the best debut she can have to any language movies. Sunny Wayne did an excellent job. The casting includes five directors from Malayalam movie industry – Ranjith, P. Balachandran, Aashiq Abu, Joy Mathew and M.G. Sasi. Everyone did their part amazingly. New faces Shine Tom Chacko and Soubin Shahir who acted as Resool’s friend did a stunning performance and proved them as actors to look out for. The only failure in casting is lady, who plays shuttle or walks in almost all Fort Kochi frames (Anglo Indian Frames). Songs composed by K, written by Anwar Ali and Rafeeq Thiruvallur makes the movie too region specific and supports the narration.

The movie is lengthy, its near to 3 hours, which is not that common in Malayalam movies these days. But those are not “dragging”, but “lagging” that the narration demands.

Reach theater at least half hour before the show, be relaxed, be calm, hear some good music and enjoy the romance – then the movie will be a treat, the best way to start New Year Movie Madness!

Yesterday, it was vishu for us – the celebration of astronomical new year day, on which we believe that, an auspicious at the crack of dawn on the Vishu day would prove lucky for the entire year, or has a belief what that day provides will continue for the whole year. And on that precious day, it happened – the curious case of k750!

Oh! there was a flashback, I reached Bangaluru on Thursday morning for a week long vacation to celebrate the vishu with mother, sister and her husband. The mobile validity was only up to 14th midnight and it was not rich in balance, and I went to recharge the mobile for an amount of 169, that provides a 3 month validity for my account. I bought recharge card it failed to recharge the account (luckily the store keeper allowed me to return the card). He offered me a flexi recharge that too failed heavily. I came back to home, making a request to one of my classmate to recharge my number.

Well, on vishu day, right after the Vishukkani , which was at half past four in morning the mobile felt from my bed to ground. It was usual, its been falling from bed to floor everyday, exactly with in the next three minutes, as i clean up the bed spread. I never looked on it, continued to sleep and the sleep continued for the next four hours!

The first step from the bed at 9 was exactly on the side of mobile phone, i felt that I stamped over a rat or a cat, i kicked at once, and nothing was their on floor. I walked simply and had my breakfast. After eating some one shouted in my mind – IT WAS MY MOBILE!

I rushed inside to the room, the kick made the mobile to reach the corner, i took it, as usual the battery went a slight out from the mobile making the cell off. The usual trick applied – cell was inserted again to the set, some presses and pressed on. It went working, no problem for set, there was more than a dozen of messages on the queue, read them and kept aside. A call came, suddenly the set went off.

I tried to power on it again, the trail failed. The charge was low, was near to red, i connected it with charger, and it showed charging status, pressed on power button again, it worked.

I checked for the balance, it showed a 12 hour validity and 1 rupees in account, went inside the sms box – it was empty! Null as in Null! No incoming, sent, drafts and saved. Its empty. I switched the set off and made it on again, no change. A message came from some number, the number not in my contact list, that was another vishu wish, but from one from class – the signature said it. But i had his number on the contact! I checked the contact, it was empty! All contacts, nearly 700 in number went cleared! I checked the cell again, empty memory card, empty phone memory, empty message memory. All database went flushed!

I had received more than a dozen of messages on that day, from numbers that i don’t know, along with some miss calls. I went irritated, as being in roaming I cant even ask them whom you are. On 15th noon, I had an enlightenment – the contact backup in system. I went to room and took my mobile. It was off again, i powered on again. The system was a mesh, i had over 25 backups manually and gnokii created ones. I started sorting it and finding the latest, the mobile was vibrating, that was messages, mostly from Google SMS (I had made sms notification for Planet FLOSS India). Its from Google. The numbers are back!!

What’s curious on that? I have a practice of keeping the most frequently used numbers just in alphabets, A for Anivar, P for Praveen, K for Kiran and H for Hitha and so on. And I LOST all of them – the single-lettered-name-containing-contacts! It was fair that english contains only 26 alphabets, and I could remember whom they are!
