Thus it worked!
Finally after a three week trial, I got my gnuttaappi’s (laptop) camera in working condition! It was done using luvcview, thanks to Tuxmaniac for telling me about it. Thus my Dell XPS M1210 can do Wi Fi, Blue tooth, Sing, Record with Mic, Take Pic with Ubuntu and Debian!
I am still confused – how this small thing can capture such a huge face?
